Prototype presentatie

Before you start reading this text, I would like to invite you to listen consciously to your environment for a couple of minutes. What do you hear? Which sounds do you find pleasant? Which sounds are annoying you? Do you think you could somehow have an influence on these annoying sounds: changing them, covering them, turning them off? How would your ideal environment sound?

With this first prototype, I did an experiment where I tried to change, cover and turning these sounds. This parabolic shape bundles all the sound waves to a straight sound output. The sound will not spread into the space but will be focused on one point in the space.

We design all kind of visual materials in our ecology but sound often excluded, I want to try to design with our daily life acoustic surroundings and do an intervention in our sonic (refers to almost any vibration that can be perceived by humans as well as animals) ecology.
